It has been a tough week for musicians here in Vancouver. Wilson was the keyboardist for Freeflow and I was happy to share the stage with him when I first joined the group. Unfortunately, he succumbed to brain cancer after a strong battle. I give all my love to Usha and Storm as they deal with their loss.

After a three day search, Vancouver musician Randy Ponzio was found dead due to very suspicious circumstances. He was a great person and I would like to wish his family and friends my greatest condolences as they go through this really difficult time.
Sandy Lam
Jay Leonard Juatco joins Asian Pop icon Sandy Lam, for her shows at the Hong Kong Coliseum
I am very excited to be the guitarist for one of the most iconic pop artists in Asia. We will be performing at the Hong Kong Coliseum on September 23-25, 2011.
Lam has won many awards in the course of her career, including Best Regional Performing Female Artist, Best Album, Best Female Vocalist, the Asia Pacific Most Outstanding Female Artist, and an honorary Music Award for her contributions to the music industry.
Check out the shows and make sure to scream loud during my solos!
Redeye Empire
Jay Leonard Juatco joins Redeye Empire
I am the new official guitarist for Rock/Reggae group Redeye Empire. They have a great following and have toured with such acts as Michael Franti and G. Love.
Their new album Last Chance For Sunshine debuted as the feature album on the US iTunes Store and you can find them performing on an upcoming episode of Shaw TV’s Urban Rush.
“Vintage Love” Album Release
Warren Dean Flandez’s debut album to premiere at Vancouver’s HMV Megastore
One of my first contacts since moving back to Vancouver, Warren Dean Flandez, is doing a big red carpet CD release at Vancouver’s HMV megastore on May 13th, 2011. He’s been working on the album, “Vintage Love”, for a long time and I will say that it turned out brilliantly.
Look for our appearances on Shaw TV’s “Urban Rush” and “Entertainment Tonight Canada” to pump you up for the big show.
Jay Leonard Juatco Trio
Vancouver’s new blues/soul/funk experience
During a packed schedule of session work, play-for-hire shows, and artist collaborations, it is great to just lay back and play some of your old favorite songs.
I started this small trio as a means of experimentation and relaxation: music ranging ’60s Chess era blues, ’70s soul/funk/r&B, ’80s new wave, and even some ’90s hip hop.
Surprisingly, this group is getting a cool little following, so check us out. You can find us playing at the Libra Room in Vancouver whenever I have a hole in my hectic schedule!

The Silent Epidemic/Breaking The Silence
We were really proud of our work on AidsVancouver’s new PSA campaign. The crew was great and it was a blast to be a part of (the giant sushi platters were greatly appreciated)!
You can find the video spot on my press page or on AidsVancouver’s website. Enjoy!

The Airtights
Jay Leonard Juatco and Co. form the new reincarnation of “The Airtights”
The Airtights is a Vancouver based hip hop/R&B group known for their work with artists such as Passion and D-City.
However, the group is now focusing on their own full studio album produced by Juno winning producer Roger Swan (K-Os, Rascalz, Swollen Members). The album, “Panther”, should be out by the fall of 2012.
